The Trade Deadline ends today at 6 pm ET. Yesterday, there was a bunch of trades. Many involving the National League. These trades involved the teams of, New York Mets, Milwaukee Brewers, Arizona Diamondbacks, Seattle Mariners, Washington National's, and the Chicago Cubs.
1. Jeimer Candelario To The Cubs
The Chicago Cubs traded for INF Jeimer Candelario from the Washington National's. In exchange for Candelario, the Nats received minor league LHP DJ Herz and minor league INF Kevin Made. Jeimer Candelario is on a expiring contract. He's having a good year with the Nats. In 99 games, he's slashing .258/.342/.481, 16 HR's, 53 RBI's, and a .823 OPS. With the Cubs having a shot to make the playoffs, this move is certainly going to help the Cubs.
2. Mark Canha To The Brewers
The New York Mets have been very disappointing this year. It's obvious they're selling, and it continued by trading OF Mark Canha to the Milwaukee Brewers. I'm exchange for Canha, the Mets received minor league RHP Justin Jarvis. Mark Canha is having a solid season. In 89 games, Canha is slashing .245/.343/.381, 6 HR's, 29 RBI's, and a .724 OPS. Mark Canha is a solid piece to the OF, and he'll certainly help the Brewers chase for the playoffs.
3. Paul Sewald To The Diamondbacks
The Arizona Diamondbacks are a young and fun team. They've been looking for bullpen help, and they certainly got that by trading for Mariners' relief pitcher, Paul Sewald. In exchange for Sewald, the Mariners received OF Dominic Canzone, INF Josh Rojas, and INF Ryan Bliss. Paul Sewald has been reliable out of the bullpen all season long. In 45 appearances for Sewald, he has a 2.93 ERA, 60 SO, 21 SV, and a 1.02 WHIP. This move by the Diamondbacks is huge to bolster their bullpen.
