One Team is off the Board for Top Free Agent

A report came out yesterday that the Seattle Mariners don't have any intention in signing star free agent, Shohei Ohtani. The report said, "Industry sources believe that Shohei Ohtani doesn't appear to be in the Mariners' realistic agenda this offseason" Per, Daniel Kramer (Mariners reporter).

Any team would love to have a player like Shohei Ohtani. He's the best player in baseball, and obviously on the free agent market. Shohei Ohtani just recently won his second MVP. In 2023, Ohtani slashed .304/.412/.654, with 44 HR's, 95 RBI's, and a 1.066 OPS. Shohei Ohtani also pitched at a high level, but he won't be doing that at all next year after undergoing surgery.

The Mariners have different plans. It could be as simple as not wanting to pay so much for what Shohei Ohtani is going to get. Reports have said that Ohtani could get up to $570M. The Mariners have a lot of other young talent, and that will be their plan to use that moving forward.
