The Baltimore Orioles have announced that INF Jackson Holliday has been optioned to Triple-A. On April 10th, Jackson Holliday made his highly anticipated major league debut. Going into the MLB, Holliday had a lot of expectations. In his time at the major league level, it hasn’t worked out. The Orioles decided to send Jackson Holliday back to Triple-A to give him more time.
Jackson Holliday is the MLB’s top prospect. The Orioles selected Jackson Holliday in the 2022 MLB draft with the first overall pick. He spent a couple years in the minors and was called up to the big stage, the MLB. Now, he finds himself back in Triple-A.
It certainly wasn’t a start to a career at the major league level that Jackson Holliday was hoping for, but it’s a learning experience. In just 34 at-bats, Holliday slashed .059/.111/.059, with a total of 0 home runs, just 1 RBI, and a .170 OPS.
There were some people who believed the Orioles should’ve kept Holliday at the major league level, including stars in the MLB. Jackson Holliday will have to work again to get back to the MLB. It shouldn’t be to long, and hopefully once Jackson Holliday gets recalled, it will be much better the second time.
