The Orioles have agreed to terms on a Minor League contract with veteran INF Kolten Wong, who will join the club in big-league camp, per Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.

Wong, 33, is a 11-year veteran who spent the majority of his career with the St. Louis Cardinals. Wong was traded to Seattle from Milwaukee during the 2023 season. He then found himself on the Dodgers for the end of the season.

Wong has been a productive bat in his career, but recently has tailed off. During his 2023 season, Wong slashed just .183/.256/.263, but ended his season slashing .300/.353/.500 in 30 AB.

Wong is joining a young Orioles club where he will be fighting for playing time. However, if Wong shows production during his spring, there’s a chance he could find himself on the bench or in AAA where he could be an injury away from being called up.

With Wong on the tail end of his career, it’s unclear how many years he will have. However, his veteran leadership and versatility could prove valuable to a young club needing veterans.
