The San Diego Padres and free agent INF/OF Jurickson Profar are in agreement on a one-year deal worth $1 million with $1.5 million in incentives based on plate appearances, per Robert Murray of FanSided.
Profar is certainly no stranger to San Diego. Profar has spent ten years in the big leagues and has spent four of those years with the Padres.
The Padres brought back Profar mid-season of 2023 when they traded for him from the Rockies. In 14 games with the Padres, Profar slashed .295/.367/.409 with a home run. Overall, he slashed .242/.321/.368 with 9 home runs.
Jurickson Profar adds a veteran presence in a place where he is extremely comfortable. The Padres have seemingly been a place of comfort for Profar as he always seems to play well. His versatility will add to his value for the 2024 season, where the Padres will need some offensive depth to make up for the loss of Juan Soto.
