Padres Manager Could Be On The Move

The San Diego Padres have officially granted permission to the San Francisco Giants to interview Bob Melvin for their managerial opening. Melvin, who will turn 62 in late October, has already won Manager of the Year three times in his long baseball career.

Melvin came over to San Diego after parting ways with the Oakland Athletics in 2021 after 10 years. The Giants have their eyes set on the well respected manager after parting ways with their former manager, Gabe Kapler.

The Padres granting this permission to a division rival had many scratching their heads in wonder. It's obvious the Padres have not had their way in 2023 and makes the questions pop up, how bad is the locker room in San Diego? After the interview process finalizes, Melvin is expected to be on of the top candidates for the position in San Francisco.
