Padres starting pitcher, Joe Musgrove underwent an MRI on his right shoulder that revealed inflammation in his capsule, Padres GM A.J. Preller said. Joe Musgrove will be shut down for three weeks. This is a huge hit to the Padres, for a team trying to make a playoff push.

Joe Musgrove has been a reliable pitcher for the Padres all season long. In 17 starts, Musgrove has pitched 97.1 IP, 10-3 record, 3.05 ERA, 97 SO, and a 1.14 WHIP. From the beginning of the season, till now, Musgrove has pitched good.

Joe Musgrove is going to miss a lot of time, with being shutdown three weeks, then rehab. It's going to be awhile till we see Musgrove back out on the mound. The Padres are trying to make a push for the playoffs, and this is the last thing they needed.
