Padres Superstar Lands on the 10-Day IL

The San Diego Padres announced a few roster moves. First, superstar outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. was placed on the 10-day injured list with right femoral stress reaction. The club selected the contract of Bryce Johnson. In addition, they recalled Adam Mazur and Eguy Rosario from Triple-A.


Fernando Tatis Jr. actually has multiple injuries. The first one is from a hit by pitch in the elbow. The other injury was a quad injury. Tatis was considered day-to-day. It was best for him just to go on the injured list.


Padres manager Mike Shildt said that it will take some time for Tatis to heal up. There has been multiple reports that have stated that there’s a chance Fernando Tatis Jr. could be out of action through the All-Star break, which is July 15th - July 18th.


It has been another great start to the season for Tatis Jr., here are his stats in 2024 thus far:


80 starts | .279/.354/.468 | 14 HR | 36 RBI | 8 SB | .822 OPS


This whole season the Padres offense has been led by Fernando Tatis Jr. The Padres will now have to adjust and figure out a way that they can get other guys going. It all starts with everyone now that their superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. is out for the time being.
