The San Diego Padres are in the market for adding some outfield depth, after trading away Juan Soto and Trent Grisham. The San Francisco Giants have been rumored a lot this offseason with ways to upgrade their club. Per Jon Morosi of MLB Network, the Padres and Giants are interested in recently posted KBO phenom, Jung-hoo Lee and free agent, Harrison Bader.
Jung-hoo Lee was recently posted to MLB and has gained a lot of interest. Lee won Rookie of the Year in 2017 and league MVP in 2022 with the Kiwoom Heroes. Lee slashed .340/.407/.491 with 65 homers in his 884 career games.
Harrison Bader spent time with the New York Yankees and Cincinnati Reds last season. In his 98 games last season, he slashed .232/.274/.348 with seven home runs. Although the offensive numbers might not jump out, his top tier defense in centerfield more than makes up for it.
Both the Padres and Giants are franchises who are known for consistently looking for ways to upgrade their clubs. Both Lee and Bader provide that. These two NL West rivals are looked upon as top suiters for these two outfielders.
