The Phillies placed OF Brandon Marsh on the 10-day IL with a left knee contusion. To fill his spot on the 26-man roster, the club selected the contract of INF/OF Weston Wilson (#37) from Lehigh Valley (AAA).
This is really tough news for the Phillies as Brandon Marsh is having a great season. In 101 games, Marsh is slashing .281/.367/.460, 8 HR's, 43 RBI's, and a .827 OPS. Brandon Marsh is just 25-years-old, so these stats are really impressive.
With Brandon Marsh expected to miss 2-3 weeks, the Phillies will look to their rookie OF Johan Rojas to fill Marsh's spot in the OF. The Phillies have litte room for error as they're just +2.5 games in the second wild card. Hopefully Brandon Marsh has a speedy recovery.
