The Pittsburgh Pirates placed veteran outfielder/designated hitter Andrew McCutchen on the 10-day injured list. He has had problems with his left knee. As the corresponding move, the club recalled INF Alika Williams from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Andrew McCutchen has been around baseball for a very long time. The past few years Andrew McCutchen has been dealing with many different injuries. Especially stuff with his knee. McCutchen is now 37-years old and turns 38 in just a few months.

This is Andrew McCutchen’s 16th season at the major league level. He’s become a baseball legend and a well respected player throughout all of MLB.

Overall, it’s been a pretty solid season for Andrew McCutchen. He’s been giving the Pirates a lot of production. In 101 games, McCutchen is slashing .235/.336/.405, with 16 HR, 40 RBI, and a .741 OPS.

The Pirates will now be without a veteran leader for a few weeks. Andrew McCutchen can obviously still be around the team, but just won’t be able to play. Hopefully McCutchen can heal up soon and be back on the field for the Pirates.
