SURPRISE, AZ: The defending World Series champion Texas Rangers announced that outfield prospect, Wyatt Langford, has made the Rangers Opening Day roster, per Jeff Passan of ESPN.

Langford is an exciting prospect, coming in at No. 6 on MLB Pipeline’s rankings. The 4th overall pick from the 2023 MLB Draft leads the Rangers with six homers, 19 RBIs, and a 1.242 OPS over 17 games this spring.

After leading the Florida Gators to the NCAA College World Series finals, the 22-year-old slashed .360/.480/.677 with 10 home runs, 30 RBIs, and 12 stolen bases over 44 games over four minor-league levels last season.

Langford adds yet another big bat in the Rangers lineup and provides plus defensive metrics in the outfield. The Rangers are looking to not only win the AL West this season, but repeat as World Series champions. Langford will without a doubt help them try to achieve that goal.
