Rangers Promote Right-Handed Pitching Prospect to the MLB

DETROIT, MI: The Texas Rangers are calling up right-handed starting pitcher Jack Leiter to the MLB. He will make his major league debut tomorrow against the Detroit Tigers in Detroit. Per, Jeff Passan. Jack Leiter is the Rangers No. 8 prospect in their farm system. He is the Rangers third best pitching prospect.


Back in 2021, Jack Leiter was picked No. 2 overall by the Rangers. He has been working his way up to the MLB. Now, he finally gets his chance at the highest level in baseball. The Rangers who are the defending World Series Champions get a huge addition to their starting rotation.


Jack Leiter has been in Triple-A so far all year. He’s been off to a pretty solid start. Leiter has started in 3 games. He has a 1-1 record, 3.77 ERA, 6 ER, he has allowed a .208 batting average to hitters, and a 0.98 WHIP. Jack Leiter has only pitched 14.1 IP and has 25 strikeouts, that’s pretty impressive.


This is a pretty cool story for Jack Leiter. His dad, Al Leiter was a big name in the MLB. It’s going to be exciting to watch Jack Leiter do the same thing as his dad in the MLB. There’s a lot of expectations for Jack Leiter and it will all start tomorrow in his major league debut.
