The Texas Rangers were victorious over the Astros yesterday with a final score of 5-4. They now hold a commanding 2-0 series lead over the Houston Astros. Taking at least one of these first two games in Houston were critical for the Rangers, taking both and now heading back to Arlington is exactly what the Rangers needed.
Nathan Eovaldi was about as good as anyone could of expected. Pitching 6 innings of 3 run ball opened up the Rangers offense to take a early lead. The Rangers bullpen followed Eovaldi's lead, pitching 3 innings of 1 run ball.
The Rangers offense pounced on Framber Valdez early accounting for his early exit, after just 2.2 innings. The Rangers strung 7 hits and 4 earned runs against Valdez, which paved the way for their impressive win. The Rangers and Astros will now play game three in Arlington, as the Rangers look to continue their dominance.
