Rays Place Star 2B on the IL

Tampa Bay Rays manager, Kevin Cash announced that they've placed 2B Brandon Lowe on the 10-day IL with a fracture in his kneecap. This is a huge hit to the Rays lineup.

Brandon Lowe is expected to miss 4-6 weeks. Anytime Brandon Lowe misses time it's tough for the Rays. In 109 games for Lowe, he's slashing .231/.328/.443, with 21 HR's, 68 RBI's, and a .771 OPS.

Brandon Lowe could miss some of the playoffs. If that's the case, it's an even more big loss for the Rays. The hope from the Rays is that Brandon Lowe can heal quickly and be back sooner then expected.
