The Boston Red Sox have been linked with Angels superstar, Shohei Ohtani. This continues to be a developing story. Many people believe Shohei Ohtani is the best player in baseball. All the teams in MLB would love to have Shohei Ohtani on their team.
Shohei Ohtani did have surgery on his right arm, he will be sidelined from pitching all next year. Although Ohtani will still be able to hit the whole year next year. Shohei Ohtani is coming off another MVP season.
With the bat, Shohei Ohtani has started in 135 games, he slashed .304/.412/.654, with 44 HR's, 95 RBI's, 20 SB, and a 1.066 OPS. On the pitching side, Shohei Ohtani made 23 starts on the mound, he pitched to a 10-5 record, 132.0 IP, 3.14 ERA, 167 SO, and a 1.06 WHIP.
Jon Heyman of the NY Post reported this. In the article, Jon Heyman noted that, “Shohei Ohtani and the Red Sox are starting to be linked more and more. One executive with an interested team said he believes they are a real threat.”
There's certainly going to be many bidders for superstar Shohei Ohtani. Shohei Ohtani is obviously the best player on the free-agent market. As of right now, it most definitely looks like the Boston Red Sox are the front-runner for Shohei Ohtani.
