Red Sox Part Ways With CBO

Yesterday, the Red Sox announced that they have parted ways with chief baseball officer, Chaim Bloom after just 4 years in that role. Bloom had high expectations when he came to Boston, just a year after their World Series run. That has not been the case.

Bloom's latest debacle was their star shortstop, Xander Bogaerts. After allowing Bogaerts to walk in free agency, the pressure was on and it was on quickly. Just a short time after Bogaerts signed a massive deal with the San Diego Padres, the Red Sox signed Rafeal Devers to their own massive 10-year, $313.5 million contract.

Bloom has been criticized for the Red Sox not finishing the way they've been hoping for since their World Series run and is now out of Boston. The Red Sox will begin their search for a new CBO, as they look forward to 2024.
