The Cincinnati Reds and first baseman/designated hitter, Mike Ford, are in agreement on a minor league deal. Ford can earn $1.3 million if he reaches the MLB. The deal includes $125K in incentives. In addition, Mike Ford has opt-out dates for during Spring Training and during the regular season.

Mike Ford is just 31-years-old. He still has some decent time left playing baseball. Ford has played with the New York Yankees, San Francisco Giants, Seattle Mariners, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Angels, and the Seattle Mariners again.

The Reds are adding a bat who provides a lot of power in Mike Ford. In 2023, Mike Ford appeared in 83 games with the Mariners. He slashed .228/.323/.475, with 16 HR's, 34 RBI's, 24 BB's, and a .798 OPS.

Mike Ford will have a chance to make the opening day roster for the Reds. Spring Training games have begun for all teams. If Mike Ford does make the opening day roster, he will be a solid bat for the Reds.
