Reds Promote No. 5 Prospect

The Cincinnati Reds keep diving into the fountain of youth as the are calling up yet another one of their young prospects. Christian Encarnacion-Strand has met the club and is in Cincinnati.

Christian was shipped off to Cincinnati from the trade that sent him and teammate Spencer Steer to the Reds in exchange for Tyler Mahle, who went to Minnesota. In hindsight, that trade seemingly was in the Reds favor.

In Encarnacion-Strand's season at AAA, he has been making his presence known. In 67 games, his slash line of .331/.405/.637 with 20 home runs and 62 RBI has been nothing short of impressive.

Last night, Encarnacion-Strand made his MLB debut. He finished with a stat line of 0-2 but showed some good plate skills in his debut.

The Cincinnati Reds rebuild has been an impressive one at that. The smart draft picks along with great trades have set this team up to have one of the brightest futures in baseball. The Cincinnati Reds youth movement is here and it is going to be here for a very long time.
