The Yankees were one of the clubs that missed out on prized Japense free agent, Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Pivoting is something all clubs are used to, lucky enough for the Yankees, the reigning NL Cy Young Award winner has expressed interest in playing for them, per Andy Martino of SNY.
Blake Snell has formed many close relationships over the years. During his five years in Tampa Bay, Snell has seen the Yankees quite often. Hense why he has such a great relationship with Yankees captain, Aaron Judge and Yankees ace, Gerrit Cole.
Snell would slide right into the Yankees pitching staff and take the role as "co-ace" with Gerrit Cole. That would make the Yankees pitching staff night and day better. Having both the AL & NL 2023 Cy Young Award winners is something Yankee fans can dream about.
The Yankees have been said to be "set for a big January" and are scouting out pitching options. Snell would fit the bill just about as best as the Yankees front office can put together. Last season, Snell pitched to an MLB best 2.25 ERA over 180.0 innings. With New York's rotation needing help, Snell has to be on the top of their list.
