PEORIA, AZ: Reigning National League Cy Young winner Blake Snell and the San Francisco Giants are in agreement on a two-year, $62 million contract that includes an opt-out after the first season, per Jeff Passan of ESPN. The deal was first reported by Jon Heyman of The New York Post.

Snell’s long awaited free agency decision has now come to an end with less than ten days before Opening Day. With Snell off the board, it now leaves Jordan Montgomery team-less of the Scott Boras clients.

Snell, 31, will now call San Francisco home for at least a year. Coming off of adding some new hardware to his resume, where he pitched to a 2.25 ERA.

The San Francisco Giants have been an extremely active club this offseason. After Snell, the Giants have added..

The Giants have been improving and it could not have came at a better time. With the Dodgers, Diamondbacks, and the Padres all expected to be competitive, the Giants needed to have a strong offseason.

Adding Snell to their rotation was huge. It separates themselves as a top rotation, when healthy. It’s unknown whether or not the Giants will meet expectations, but with the additions they have made, things are looking up in the Bay Area.
