Colorado Rockies right-handed pitcher, Daniel Bard has suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee while throwing a bullpen session. Bard is slated to undergo arthroscopic surgery. Daniel Bard will miss the entire Spring Training, and possibly some of the regular season.

Daniel Bard, 38, is entering the final season of his two-year, $19 million contract that he signed with the Rockies. Bard has spent his nine-year career with the Boston Red Sox and the Colorado Rockies.

Daniel Bard is a relief-pitcher. He's always served as a solid one. For Bard's career, he has appeared in 408 career games, 31-35 record, 3.74 ERA, 66 saves, 475 SO, and a WHIP of 1.301.

The good thing for the Rockies is that it happend right before Spring Training started. At least Daniel Bard won't miss much time in the regular season. The Rockies will need to find someone for the time being to take Bard's spot in the bullpen.
