The Kansas City Royals have placed first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino on the 10-day injured list. He has a right thumb fracture. As the corresponding move, infielder Nick Loftin was recalled from Omaha Triple-A. Per, the Royals.
Vinnie Pasquantino will miss 6-8 weeks. There is only about a month of baseball left in the regular season. The Royals are in a good spot to make the playoffs. The hope is that Pasquantino will be able to make it back for the playoffs if they do make it to that point.
This is Vinnie Pasquantino’s third year in the MLB. 2022 is when he was called up and Pasquantino played a total of 72 games in his rookie year. Last year in 2023, he played just 61 games. Now this year Vinnie Pasquantino has played almost every game until now where he will likely miss the rest of the regular season, he’s played 131 games this year.
Vinnie Pasquantino has quickly developed to be a good hitter in Major League Baseball. He’s been a big part of the Royals success. This year, Pasquantino is slashing .262/.315/.446, with 19 HR, 97 RBI, and a .761 OPS.
This is really unfortunate news for Vinnie Pasquantino and the Royals. He’s in the middle of his best season in his young career. Pasquantino will now start his journey back to the Royals lineup and will hope to play again this season at some point.
