This seems to be the headline on many things online. This time, he made history in a way that no other player in the league, at the moment, could. He became the first player to receive a pitch clock violation as a pitcher and a hitter.
Obviously this bit of history is more hysterical than his usual off the wall approach to records. Ohtani received both of these violations in last nights Angels/Mariners game.
Although Ohtani's history that was made last night will probably stand for quite some time, he was still his dominant self.
His pitching line consisted of..
6.0 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 4 BB, 8 SO
Season ERA - 0.75
His batting line consisted of..
1 H, 1 RBI, 2 BB, 0 SO in 2 AB
Season BA - .286
Ohtani also earned the win in the Angels 4-3 victory over the Mariners, which sealed the series for the Angels. The Angels are currently 4-2 on the early season, looking for Shohei Ohtani to make more headlines.
