The Braves Suffer a Big Loss in Their Rotation

Max Fried via Battery Power

On Tuesday, it was announced that the Atlanta Braves placed pitcher Max Fried on the 15 day-IL with a strained left forearm. This is a huge hit to the first place Braves rotation.

This is the second time he has hit the IL this year. Unfortunately, this won’t be a short stint on the IL. Max Fried’s MRI on Tuesday, showed that there is no concern for him to have Tommy John Surgery.

According to Braves reporter, Mark Bowman, the expectation is for Max Fried to be out for at least 2 months.

Max Fried was off to a good start to the 2023 season. In 5 games, 26 innings pitched, Fried posted a 2.08 ERA. He struck out 25 batters, and Fried had a 1.08 WHIP. Obviously, this is awful news for the Braves, as they will now have to figure out rotation plans with Strider, Morton, and Elder being the only healthy ones in the rotation.
