Right-handed reliever David Robertson and the Texas Rangers are in agreement on a one-year contract in the $11-12 million range, pending physical. Per, Jeff Passan of ESPN.

The Texas Rangers were the 2023 World Series Champions. They didn't have much to improve on, but the bullpen was a big spot the Rangers needed to improve on and they're doing that. David Robertson will give them a reliable piece out of the bullpen.

David Robertson spent the 2023 season with the New York Mets and the Miami Marlins.

David Robertson 2023 stats with the Mets:

40 appearances, 4-2 record, 44.0 IP, 2.05 ERA, 14 saves, 31 hits allowed, 5 home runs allowed, 48 SO, and a 1.000 WHIP.

David Robertson 2023 stats with the Marlins:

22 appearances, 2-4 record, 21.1 IP, 5.06 ERA, 4 saves, 22 hits allowed, 2 home runs allowed, 30 SO, and a 1.594 WHIP.

The Texas Rangers will hope to get the Mets side of David Robertson. Robertson adds a veteran arm to the Rangers bullpen. It's just a one-year deal. Hopefully David Robertson will be able to pitch some good innings out of the Rangers bullpen.
