The Mets Look For Help Through The System, Calling Up Top Prospect

Yesterday, the Mets called up their 7th best prospect in Mark Vientos. Using the word underperforming to describe the Mets 2023 season would be an understatement. This club just does not look good right now.

The Mets need all the help they can get as they currently sit in 3rd place in the NL East with a record of 21-23. The offense seems their lacking something and they hope Vientos can provide a spark that this club needs so desperately.

In AAA Syracuse, Vientos is slashing an impressive .333/.416/.688 with 13 home runs and 37 RBIs. Vientos has all the makings of being a quality player for the team that calls Queens home.

Last night, Vientos already made an impact as he hit a game-tying home run against the red hot Rays in their route to a wild walk-off 8-7 victory. Vientos went 1/4 with 2 H and 2 RBI.

Luckily for the Mets, it's still early enough to turn it around. It could be a completely different tone for this ball club come October. Vientos could be a big reason why that possibility could become a reality.
