The New York Mets general manager, Billy Eppler reportedly went to Japan earlier this season to scout Yoshinobu Yamamoto. He's a Star RHP, from the Orix Buffaloes. Yamamoto is expected to be posted for MLB teams to sign starting in 2024.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto's stats for his career are outstanding. Over 7 seasons in Japan, and 897 innings pitched, Yamamoto has a 1.82 ERA, 920 SO's, and a 0.914 WHIP. That's all with the Orix Buffaloe's in the NPB.

The New York Mets could certainly use a guy like Yamamoto. He's a great pitcher, and he's reliable. With this year potentially being Max Scherzer's final season with the Mets, they could definitely use Yamamoto. Kodai Senga, the starting pitcher for the Mets, also came from Japan, so he could try to bring Yamamoto to the Mets.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto is certainly going to be a player to watch out for once he's posted for MLB teams to sign him. The Mets are obviously going to make a run at him, and there's definitely going to be other teams in on Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
