The Philadelphia Phillies are getting a jersey change. They will be getting rid of their red jerseys. The red jerseys were introduced in 2016, they served as both the spring training jerseys and an alternate for weekday games at Citizens Bank Park. These jerseys lasted just two years as a regular season alternate.

The Phillies will be announcing their city connect jerseys at some point. Nike, who controls the city connects has a rule for the jerseys. The rule is a 4+1, meaning they will produce four jerseys per team, and the fifth is the city connect jersey.

The Phillies already had five jerseys with the home pinstripes, cream, powder blue, away gray, and red. They were forced to get rid of one of those jerseys and it came down to getting rid of the alternate red. No one knows the exact date that the Phillies city connects are getting introduced, but it will be sometime in the near future.
