The Philadelphia Phillies are One Win Away From the World Series

The Philadelphia Phillies took down the Arizona Diamondbacks in game 5 last night by a final score of 6-1. The series will now shift back to Philly, with the Phillies having a 3-2 lead in the series and they're one win away from another trip to the World Series.


Zack Wheeler was once again dominant in the playoffs. With how much the Phillies used their bullpen in game 4, the Phillies really needed a strong outing from Zack Wheeler, and he delivered. Zack Wheeler pitched 7 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, and 8 SO.


The Phillies offense really turned it around in game 5. They had a total of 6 runs on 9 hits. The Phillies got RBI's from Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper, Bryson Stott, and J.T. Realmuto. The Phillies hit 3 home runs, those came from Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper, and J.T. Realmuto.


The Arizona Diamondbacks are now on the brink of elimination. They will have to win two games in a row in Philadelphia to advance to the World Series. Game 6 will be tomorrow, the Phillies will have Aaron Nola on the mound and the Diamondbacks will have Merrill Kelly on the mound.
