The Philadelphia Phillies took down the Arizona Diamondbacks in game one of the NLCS. The final score was 5-3. Both teams faught hard the whole game. Weather it was each teams pitching or offense, it was a good way to begin the 2023 NLCS.

Zack Wheeler gave the Phillies exactly what they needed. Zack Wheeler went 6 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, and 8 SO. On the other side, Zac Gallen had the worst start he could've asked for. Gallen went 5 IP, 8 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 4 SO, he also gave up 3 HR's.

For the offenses, the Phillies started the game off with a bang. Kyle Schwarber hit the first pitch of the game for a home run. Bryce Harper then hit another home run, and for the final Phillies home run of the game, it was a Nick Castellanos home run. The only offense for the Diamondbacks came from a sac-fly and a Geraldo Perdomo two-run home run.

The Phillies will now have Aaron Nola on the mound for game two tonight. For the Diamondbacks they will need Merrill Kelly to come up big on the mound as he will be their game two starter tonight. The Phillies will look to go up 2-0, as the Diamondbacks will look to even up the series 1-1, the first pitch will be at 8:07 ET.
