The Texas Rangers won game 3 of the 2023 World Series to put them up 2-1 in the series. It was a low scoring game, just 3-1 as the final score. The Rangers offense showed up just a little bit more, and the Rangers also out pitched the Diamondbacks.

The Rangers dealt with some injuries in last nights game. Max Scherzer started the game for the Rangers, he left with just 36 pitches. Max Scherzer was dealing with back tightness. Also, Rangers star Adolis Garcia left the game after he grabbed his oblique on a swing.

After the game, Max Scherzer was asked about his back tightness, he said his back locked up on him and his status for the rest of the series is uncertain. It would be a huge loss for the Rangers if they don't have Max Scherzer depending on how many games this World Series goes. For Adolis Garcia, he's not in tonight's lineup for the Texas Rangers. Both Max Scherzer and Adolis Garcia was removed from the World Series roster, the Rangers announced.

Thankfully for the Rangers, their bullpen could hold it down. Jon Gray came into the game to replace Max Scherzer. Gray gave the Rangers exactly what they neeed, he pitched 3 scoreless innings. Then Josh Sborz, Aroldis Chapman, and José Leclerc finished the job for the Rangers.

On the road, the Rangers have been absolutely eletric. With last nights win, the Rangers moved to 9-0 on the road in the postseason. That's an MLB record. At this point, the Rangers may want to play on the road in the playoffs.

With a win tonight, the Rangers will lead the World Series 3-1. They will have Andrew Heaney on the mound. For the Diamondbacks, they could get right back into the series with a win and even the series up at 2-2. The Diamondbacks will have Joe Mantiply on the mound. First pitch will be at 8:03 PM ET.
