This 2023 Rays team is ready to prove that they belong at the top of the league. Yesterday, they improved to 8-0 on the year, while making history. They became the first team since the 1939 Yankees to win 8 straight (at any point in season) by 4+ runs.

Mumbles have started that the Rays competition hasn't been as challenging as others in the league. So far, the Rays have beaten the Tigers, Nationals, and the Athletics. Sweeping the Tigers and Nationals, while looking to add the A's to that list today.

While these teams statistically haven't been at the top of the league, sweeping teams in this league is incredibly challenging. None the less outscoring their opponents by 4+ runs in eight consecutive games.

The pitching staff has been phenomenal ranking 1st in the league in ERA (2.13). No matter who the Rays put on the mound, their getting the job done. Their lineup has been just as impressive, ranking 4th in the league in BA (.282), 1st in HR (21), 1st in RBI (63), and 1st in OPS (.936).

It's honestly incredible what this Rays team is doing. Ranking among the top 5 in almost every team statistical category all while having the 3rd lowest payroll in all of baseball ($62.5M). This team has always been a more analytical team and it's always worked out for them. The Rays are rolling right now while showing no signs of slowing down.
