The Tampa Bay Rays Take a Huge Hit to Their Starting Rotation

The Tampa Bay Rays announced yesterday, that they've placed there ace, Shane McClanahan on the 15-day IL with back tightness. This is a huge loss to the first place Rays in the AL East.


Shane McClanahan was on pace to potentially be the starting pitcher for the AL All-Star team. He was also on pace to potentially win the AL Cy young. He has been outstanding for the best team in baseball.


In 17 starts for McClanahan, he has a 11-1 record, 96.0 innings pitched, 2.53 ERA, 101 strikeouts, and a 1.17 WHIP. He was proving to everyone why he's one of the best pitchers in all of baseball.


Shane McClanahan is certainly going to be a huge loss for the Rays. They can only hope that there other pitchers will be able to fill his absence just a little till McClanahan comes back.
