The Yankees are About to Get Some Huge Pitching Help

Carlos Rodon via New York Daily News

As Yankee fans are pleading for their beloved New York Yankees to finally stay healthy and get their key pieces back, their begging might be paying off. Other than Aaron Judge, the Yankees prized free agent was LHP Carlos Rodon, who has yet to throw a single pitch for the Bronx Bombers.

Rodon has pitched two rehab games for AA Somerset and is set to throw his final game before joining the big league team. In those two games, Rodon has pitched 7.0 innings all while allowing just two hits and one run, tallying 9 strikeouts.

The Yankees struggles this season have been known. Their pitching staff has been no different. Other than their ace, Gerrit Cole, it's been tough sledding for the rest of their staff. Slotting a healthy Carlos Rodon behind Gerrit Cole is exactly what this club needs.

If all works out the way it is supposed to, Carlos Rodon will pitch one more rehab start for AA Somerset. He will then meet the Yankees in the Bronx for his Yankee debut. His debut is scheduled for Wednesday, July 5th against the Orioles.
