There’s a Real Shot The Angles Move Their Superstar At The Trade Deadline

Shohei Ohtani via Talkin’ Baseball

Jon Morosi was on MLB Network yesterday, and he reported that the Los Angeles Angles are now in "listening mode" when it comes to Shohei Ohtani inquiries. This is obviously the big talk in this year's trade deadline.

Morosi noted that suitors must be prepared to be asked by the Angels for multiple top-100 prospects. Anyone team would do anything for a player like Shohei Ohtani, he's a true generational talent.

The Los Angeles Angels are currently 46-47, they're in third place in the AL West, they're also 8 games out of first place, and they're five games out of the third wild card spot. It's going to be very hard for them to make it anywhere this year.

Shohei Ohtani would be a lock for the AL MVP if the season ended right now. He's once again putting up outstanding numbers. On the offensive side for Ohtani, he has a .302 average, 33 home runs, 72 RBI's, 11 SB, and a 1.047 OPS. For his pitching, in 18 starts, he's thrown 105.1 innings, 7-5 record, 3.50 ERA, 139 SO, and a 1.12 WHIP.

If the Los Angeles Angels decide to trade him, they quite possibly get the biggest return in the history of baseball for a trade. He's most likely to be traded to a contender who's looking to make a deep playoff run. For a baseball fan, it's going to be fun to watch this develop, and to see if Shohei Ohtani truly gets traded.
