This Former Top Prospect is Thriving in His New Home

Mickey Moniak was once a highly touted prospect in the Philadelphia Phillies organization. He was traded to the Angels at the 2022 trade deadline, in exchange for RHP Noah Syndergaard. Los Angeles just might be the home Moniak has for good.

Many had shut the door on the former number one overall pick, but Moniak is proving why he belongs in the majors. In 2023, Moniak is slashing .305/.339/.678 with a 1.017 OPS, along with 5 home runs and 12 RBI.

Mickey Moniak is a fresh sight for Angels fans as year after year they hope for players to show up outside of their two generational stars. Moniak is becoming a steady producer in their lineup and could be on his way to a very productive 2023 season.
