The MLB trade deadline is fastly approaching. There's always a lot of trades that go down during this time in the season. As a fan, you could either be happy about this time, or it could be a disappointing time for you as a fan.
1. Marcus Stroman | SP | Cubs
The Chicago Cubs are currently five games under .500, third place in the NL Central, and seven games out of first place. Marcus Stroman could definitely be a leading candidate to be traded by the Chicago Cubs. They could get a good return for him. Stroman is putting up good numbers this year. In 19 starts, he has a 9-6 record, 112.2 IP, 2.96 ERA, 98 SO, and a 1.11 WHIP. Marcus Stroman will definitely be a player to watch to be traded at the deadline.
2. Brent Rooker | OF/DH | Athletics
The Oakland Athletics are 100% going to sell anything that they have. Everyone knows how bad the A's are, they're 25-67, and 27.5 games out of first place. Brent Rooker has had a very good season. He just played in his first all-star game. In 78 games, Rooker has a slash line of .246/.341/.485, he's launched 16 HR's, and a .826 OPS. Rooker definitely has a good shot to be traded, and it will most likely be to a contender.
3. Elias DÃaz | C | Rockies
The Rockies are another team who are already done, that can't make it anywhere this year. They're definitely going to be sellers. They're 34-57, fifth place in the NL West, and 18 games out of first place. Elias DÃaz was another one who played in his first all-star game, and he was the All-Star Game MVP. Elias DÃaz is putting up good numbers this year. He's slashing .277/.328/.435. He's hit 9 HR's, driven in 45 RBI's, and a .763 OPS. Elias DÃaz is definitely going to be a name to watch if a contending team calls for catching help.
There's going to be a lot of moves made by team's who are looking to make a deep run into October, and for teams who's season is already over. It's always an interesting time around the trade deadline to see who gets traded.
