The Minnesota Twins have option struggling outfielder Alex Kiriloff to Triple-A St. Paul. The club recalled utility man Austin Martin. Kiriloff was serving as an everyday outfielder. Although, as of late it’s been a real struggle for him at the plate. Now, he will be in the minors for a few weeks.

Alex Kiriloff is mainly an outfielder. He could play first base if the Twins ever needed it. It wasn’t his defense that has been struggling, it was his offense.

Over the past 30 games played, Alex Kiriloff has had 74 at-bats. In that time, Kiriloff slashed .135/.207/.284, with 3 HR, 10 RBI, 26 SO, and just 7 walks.

For the full season, Alex Kiriloff has appeared in 57 games. He has had 159 at-bats. Over the season, he slashed .201/.270/.384, with 5 HR, 20 RBI, 47 SO, and a .654 OPS.

There’s no question that Alex Kiriloff is a really solid hitter. He’s just been struggling a lot as of late. The hope is that Kirilloff can go down to Triple-A and find his swing once again. The Twins need Alex Kirilloff back in the MLB as soon as possible.
