The Houston Astros have acquired IF/OF Trey Cabbage from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for RHP Carlos Espinosa. According to the official Twitter of the Houston Astros.

Trey Cabbage, who is going to the Houston Astros, was ranked as the No. 26 overall prospect in the Los Angeles Angels farm system.

The Astros are getting a young player who can play the infield and outfield in Trey Cabbage. Cabbage, 26-years-old, doesn't have much major league experience. Although, at Triple-A in 2023, Cabbage made 107 starts, he slashed .306/.379/.596, with 30 HR's, 89 RBI's, and a .975 OPS.

The Angels are getting right-handed pitcher Carlos Espinosa. Espinosa has yet to make his MLB debut. Before being traded to the Angels, Carlos Espinosa was ranked as the No. 26 prospect with the Astros.

Carlos Espinosa is just 22-years-old. He doesn't have much experience, he was just signed in 2022. Carlos Espinosa had a decent season in the minor leagues in 2023. Espinosa made 15 appearances, he posted a 4-5 record, 4.29 ERA, 70 SO, and a 1.38 WHIP.

This is a pretty even trade between the Houston Astros and the Los Angeles Angels. Trey Cabbage and Carlos Espinosa are both pretty young. With that said, it's going to be intresting to see how both their careers go.
