The Seattle Mariners and the Baltimore Orioles made a trade, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN.

Full trade details:

Seattle Mariners receive RHP Mike Baumann

Baltimore Orioles receive catcher Blake Hunt

For the Mariners, they will be getting a very solid reliever with some major league experience. Mike Baumann has been with the Orioles in his full MLB career. He has been in the major leagues since 2021.

Mike Baumann stats in 2024:

17 appearances, 18.1 IP, 1-0 record, 3.44 ERA, 16 strikeouts, and a 1.47 WHIP.

The Orioles are adding a younger piece to their farm system. Blake Hunt is a catcher who has yet to make their MLB debut. He is 25-years-old and is in Triple-A. Hunt is having a very solid season and could possibly be on the Orioles big league roster at some point this season.

Blake Hunt stats in 2024:

23 games, Slashline of .293/.372/.533, 4 home runs, 20 RBI’s, 6 BB’s, and a .905 OPS.

Looking at both of Blake Hunt and Mike Baumann stats, this is a pretty even trade. Both ball players have shown true potential to be solid players at the major league level. It’ll be interesting to see how this trade goes for these two ball clubs. Blake Hunt and Mike Baumann will now start new journeys in their young careers.
