Seattle Mariners infielder Jorge Polanco underwent surgery to repair the patellar tendon in his left knee. Per, Jeff Passan of ESPN. It’s expected that Polanco will be ready by the start of spring training even after his knee surgery. This past season was Polanco’s first full season with the Mariners.

As of right now, it’s not known where Jorge Polanco will be playing in 2025. The Mariners can retain Polanco for 2025 via a $12MM club option with a $750K buyout. They will have until five days after the World Series to decide whether to pick it up or not.

This past season was a rough one for Jorge Polanco. He was acquired by the Mariners in the off-season. Polanco previously played for the Minnesota Twins before Seattle. He spent 10 seasons with them.

It wasn’t a terrible season for Jorge Polanco, but it definitely wasn’t his best. Polanco has always been an above average, even if it was just with his power. This past season in 118 games, Polanco slashed .213/.296/.355, 16 HR, 45 RBI, and a .651 OPS.

Even if Jorge Polanco isn’t with the Mariners next year, he’s going to be a great pickup for any team. Polanco gives a solid bad and good defense in the infield. Jorge Polanco will look to be ready for the season no matter who he plays with.
