Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Wins His First Home Run Derby

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. via Talkin’ Baseball

The 2023 Home Run Derby was an electric event to say the least. From Julio Rodríguez hitting 41 home runs in one round to Randy Arozarena's electric style, it was an eventful night to say the least.

At the end, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. stood alone. He now makes a bit of baseball history as him and his dad become the first father-son duo to both take home the derby championship. However, getting there was not easy.

Guerrero Jr. had to get through Mookie Betts, then knocking out the hometown hero Julio Rodríguez, then finally taking down the always electric Randy Arozarena.

Looking into the statistical side of things, Vlad's numbers are fun to look at.

Longest HR: 445 feet

Hardest hit HR: 112 mph

AVG. HR distance: 408 feet

AVG. HR exit velocity: 104.6 mph

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the rest of the 2023 Home Run Derby participants put on another unforgettable show of power, the festivities are not done quite yet. Later tonight, the American League will take on the National League in the 2023 All-Star Game at 8:00 EST.
