The Chicago White Sox have recalled RHP Mike Clevinger from Triple-A. As a corresponding more, the club placed RHP Dominic Leone on the 15-day IL with lower back tightness. The White Sox re-signed Mike Clevinger this off-season, but it was late in the off-season. Therefore, Clevinger needed time in the minor leagues, and now he’s ready.
The White Sox need all the help they can get. They have been having a very disappointing season in 2024. They are rock bottom on a lot of offensive and pitching stats. Mike Clevinger should definitely help the team at least a little.
Mike Clevinger already made a start in the majors this year, that came yesterday. He got roughed up a bit, but it was expected as he’s still getting back to his routine at pitching in the majors after not being with a team a good chunk of the MLB off-season.
This season, Mike Clevinger made a total of two starts in the minor league of the White Sox. He pitched a total of 7.1 IP, Clevinger posted a 3.68 ERA, he tallied a total of 7 strikeouts, and finally, he had a 1.77 WHIP.
Mike Clevinger is no stranger to the MLB. He has a ton of experience. That experience can go a long way for him and the White Sox. Mike Clevinger is a nice veteran guy and that will help for a team like the White Sox who need veteran leadership in their clubhouse.
