Wilson Contreras Set to Make His Return to Chicago

Later today, Wilson Contreras will be back at Wrigley Field. This time, as a St. Louis Cardinal. Contreras spent the first seven years of his career as a Cub and after his departure, Cub fans were left with a bad taste in their mouths regarding his comments about leaving his former ball club.

Last winter, Contreras inked a five-year, $87.5M contract to sign with the Cubs longtime rival. Contreras has taken over for the long-time Cardinal, Yadier Molina. After his departure, these were his comments regarding his new home.

"For me, I like this better. It's a better organization. Old school way, which I love it. Ever since I got here it's been everything just one way. The Cardinal way."

Contreras has not gotten off to the start he had hoped with his new club. He's currently slashing .265/.341/.393 with 2 home runs and 14 RBIs. Along with his struggles, the Cardinals have gotten off to the same pace. Currently sitting in last place of the NL Central with a record of 11-24, Contreras and the Cardinals will look to turn it around with this upcoming series against the Cubs.
