Yankees Captain Caps off Historic May With a Bang

SAN FRANCISCO, CA: New York Yankees captain, Aaron Judge, had started off his 2024 campaign unrecognizable. The 32-year old was ridiculed by the fanbase. Once the calendar hit May, the superstar outfielder was off to one of the hottest streaks in the game.

Judge’s May has been nothing short of spectacular. Taking a dive into his stats..

-14 home runs (next most: 11)

-1.415 OPS (next best: 1.061)

-488 OBP (next best: .447)

-.928 SLG (next best: .686)

-100-mph average EV (next best: 98.3)

-.371 BA (behind only Luis Arráez's .389)

-27 RBIs (behind only Jose Ramírez's 33)

To say that he’s been good, is quite the understatement. Judge’s extraordinary play has proven wealthy to the Yankees who just reached 40 wins and are atop of the AL East.

To put Judge's overall play into consideration, last night Judge hit a home run in his first AB against the Giants. Judge now has 278 career homers in just 895 games. The quickest to 300 home runs you may ask? Sammy Sosa in 1,052 games. That record is about to be shattered.

Not only is the Yankees captain performing, the rest of the club is producing at record numbers. With plenty of production out of the regulars such as Juan Soto, Giancarlo Stanton, Anthony Volpe, and Alex Verdugo.

The Yankees came into 2024 with lofty expectations after acquiring Juan Soto. After touching up the lineup with players who fit the bill, the Yankees offense is right on track.
