The Yankees have been on a wave of promoting young talent. The next step in that wave comes in the forms of Jasson Dominguez (#2) and Austin Wells (#8). The Yankees are going as young as possible with SS Anthony Volpe, IF Oswald Peraza, and OF Everson Pereira already in the bigs.
The Yankees abysmal 2023 season is all but over as they are currently in last place of the AL East and 11.0 games out of a wild card spot. The Bronx Bombers are treating the rest of this season as extended spring training. With Dominguez and Wells making their way to Houston for a start of a series against the Astros, the Yankees will get their looks at their top talent.
If all goes well, the Yankees could start 2024 with most, if not all, of these guys on the opening day roster. It's a season to forget for the Bombers, but this could be the start of a new era in the Bronx.
