Yankees Starter Hits the IL for the Second Time This Season

The Yankees signing of pitcher Carlos Rodón has looked like a downhill spiral at this point of the season. He is now hitting the IL for the second time this season and has not looked like the pitcher they signed to fill in behind Gerrit Cole.

Rodón is currently pitching to a 1-4 record with a 7.33 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, and just 25 strikeouts. The Yankees pitching staff was projected to be one of the best in baseball, but that just has not been the case.

Gerrit Cole has been exactly what the Yankees need, however, everyone else including Rodón has seemingly laid an egg. As of yesterday, the Yankees are 4.5 GB of the wild card spot. The Yankees hope that the injury riddled team they have can carry them into October.

If they find themselves in contention, Rodón will have to play a huge role if they want any success in October.
