Yankees Take Another Hit as Nestor Cortes “Likely” to Have a IL Stint

Aaron Boone reported yesterday, that LHP Nestor Cortes is "likely" heading to the IL as his shoulder has been "achy". This is nothing new for the New York Yankees as they have suffered injury after injury this season.

The Yankees pitching staff has been affected all season long. This is just another hit that comes at a crucial time. The Yankees currently sit in 3rd place in the AL East as they are trying to catch up to the red hot Rays and Orioles.

2023 has been one to forget for the Yankees when it comes to injuries. A bit like 2019 all over again. The Bombers hope Cortes can be back in the rotation after missing just a few starts.
