Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout led the Angels up to the Bronx to take on Aaron Judge and the Yankees. The series came to an end and there was no shortage of star power.

Game one ended in a 5-2 victory for the Angels. Shohei Ohtani took Clarke Schmidt deep in his first AB of the game.

Game two was all Aaron Judge and the Yankees. The Bombers were victorious over the Angels by a final score of 3-2. Shohei Ohtani almost added another home run to his 2023 campaign until Aaron Judge snagged it right before it landed in Monument Park. The catch will be talked around the league for the rest of the season.

Judge added to his impressive night with his first AB of the night was a towering two-run home run. If that wasn't enough for Judge, he added a diving catch that kept the game tied in late innings.

Obviously the play on the field has been spectacular by all stars involved. However, maybe the most entertaining came from what was said off the field.

Aaron Judge was interviewed after game one of the series, stating:

I’m excited to see where he goes. I hope he likes …”

Aaron Judge paused a moment.

“I’m excited to see where he goes,” Judge said.

Will Judge try to recruit Shohei Ohtani?

“Not yet,” Judge said.

Shohei Ohtani on Yankee Stadium’s atmosphere:

“Beautiful field. Passionate fans. I always look forward to playing here. It’s really fun playing here.”

Obviously these statements are all fun and games when it comes down to it. Everyone knows how easy these quotes can get blown out of proportion. However, it's crazy to think about Judge & Ohtani teaming up in the Bronx.

Shohei Ohtani is set to become a free agent come the end of the 2023 season. The Yankees locked up Aaron Judge last off-season to a long term extension and really set the pricetag for superstar free agents to come.
